Students and teachers in rural Europe, from all levels and forms of education and learning, may well be the most critical factor for the initiation of innovation and take-up of a lifelong learning culture in rural communities. They may, at the same time, be isolated or marginalised, with little chance for outreach and invitation of support for their aspirations.
