International Conference

The RuraLEARN international conference will bring together academics, agents of applied research, and field practitioners from Europe and beyond who investigate ways of promoting lifelong learning, in the widest sense, in rural communities and geographically disadvantaged areas. Conference participants will present the outcomes of their applied projects or academic endeavours, share their experiences from this work, and discuss towards drawing common conclusions and formulating recommendations for the future.

Speakers will include renowned international academics and EU representatives.

The conference offers excellent opportunities for dissemination and networking. The setting will encourage the cross-fertilisation of ideas from diverse disciplines and fields of practice sharing an interest in the broader themes of rural development and lifelong learning. A particular emphasis will be placed on bringing academic research and field-based initiatives and projects into close contact and mutually productive and beneficial exchange. Theory, methodologies, experiences and outcomes will be discussed in depth so as to become more widely known to the academic community, the various stakeholders and the wider public.
